Describe the major phases in the life cycle of systems development (SDLC).

The planning process focuses on assessing whether there is reason for building a project Information system and a plan for the realization of the development project.

The analysis phase focuses on identifying the current situation, and assessing the anticipated needs and requirements of the new program.

The design phase refines the system requirements (from analysis) and develops specifications on how those requirements will be met by the new system.

The process of implementation phase includes building (or installing) the new system, reviewing, upgrading, training and maintaining the new system.
