Which phase is most important within the SDLC?

Although each step is critical for the overall analysis of the processes, the step of preparation and analysis must be given special attention. The planning process is structured to assess project feasibility and establish a project plan. If the analysis of feasibility is poorly done or misunderstood or the project is unplanned, then the chance of success is extremely low. Similarly, if the analysis phase is completely shortened or omitted, the system requirements will not be fully defined and may result in either a system that does not address business needs or a system that is not completed due to continuous rework.
